Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Jennifer Che

Optometrist

Dr. Jennifer Che is a highly accomplished optometrist whose training and clinical experience place her among the most skilled practitioners in her field. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the prestigious UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where her exceptional performance led to a coveted externship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida — consistently ranked one of the top ophthalmology programs in the nation — where she trained alongside some of the country's leading eye surgeons.

Committed to advancing her clinical expertise, Dr. Che pursued residency training at the Los Angeles VA Ambulatory Care Center in Downtown Los Angeles, one of the most demanding and comprehensive medical training environments in Southern California. She completed her residency in Ocular Disease and Low Vision Rehabilitation in 2012, equipping her with a depth of diagnostic and therapeutic knowledge that extends well beyond the scope of general optometric practice.

Following residency, Dr. Che held clinical positions at both the Long Beach VA Medical Center and the UC Irvine Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology — two highly respected academic and medical institutions. These roles sharpened her ability to diagnose, treat, and manage complex and sight-threatening ocular conditions, and gave her a rare interdisciplinary perspective at the intersection of optometry and ophthalmology.

Dr. Che's clinical expertise encompasses the management of complicated ocular disease, specialty contact lens fitting for patients with irregular corneal conditions, and comprehensive low vision rehabilitation for those facing significant visual impairment. Her patients benefit from a provider who brings both medical-grade training and a deeply personalized approach to care.

In recognition of her clinical excellence and professional contributions, Dr. Che earned the distinction of Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). She is an active member of the California Optometric Association and served as Chair of its Low Vision Rehabilitation Section for two consecutive terms from 2015 to 2017 — a testament to her leadership and dedication to advancing vision rehabilitation in the profession.
